Tap Away The Fear – by Marc Lemezma

Marc Lemezma – Hypnotherapist at Tranquil Hypnotherapy Maidstone

Only the unknown frightens men. But once a man has faced the unknown, that terror becomes the known.
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900–1944)

I’ve always loved that quote and it is one I often share with hypnotherapy clients who approach me to help with anxiety and phobia.

Colonic hydrotherapy is an amazing treatment. Now you don’t need me to tell you that as Talita is so incredibly passionate about the incredible health benefits it can bring. It is clean, safe, odour free and leaves you feeling better in so many ways… yet some people are still a too little anxious or perhaps even embarrassed to consider it – even though they are keen to try.

So if you are among those who are keen and yet a little wary, I have a small “gift” for you to try in the privacy of your own home. It is a quick technique to help you overcome anxiety in just a few moments. This is part of a therapeutic discipline called Thought Field Therapy. I practice it alongside hypnosis to help my clients with all manner of issues, including:-

  • Anxiety
  • Traumas
  • PTSD
  • Phobias
  • Addictions
  • Uncontrolled Habits
  • OCD
  • And many more!

The basic idea is to tap the body in different places using the tips of your fingers. This stimulates energy points in the same way a acupuncture but without the needles!

There are many sequences available to use, one for almost any psychological issue you copuld imagine from anxiety to OCD. The short video below gives a basic introduction to the simplest technique in TFT – yet it is one that can bring about a reduction in anxiety in a few seconds to around 70% of people.

Try it. First bring to mind the anxiety you wish to control – that might be having a colonic or any other typical situation such as heights or spiders. Now evaluate the distress that though causes from 0 to 10. Now follow the taps shown on the video.

Re-evaluate your anxiety. Most people will see their levels drop by several points which is often enough to help them face up to the situation they have been worried about. Other people take a little more help – so if your anxiety has only dropped a point or two, get in touch with me and I’ll arrange a session to help you get your anxiety down to a manageable level.

If you do feel slight embarrassment when thinking about the treatment, try tapping below your nose on your upper lip about 15 times. Once again that should help reduce that feeling for most people.

You’ll feel a lot better after your colonic, I know I did, and the more relaxed you are during the treatment , the more effective it can be!

I hope you’ve found that useful. If you would like to know more about the many ways hypnotherapy and TFT can help you simply get in touch.
